Our loving mother, Nancy C. McCoy, age 84, entered Heaven peacefully, due to natural causes, on July 28, 2020, in Kingman, Ariz. She was born on April 12, 1936, to Arthur and Rose Stevenson in Albertson, Long Island, New York. She married the love of her life, our father, Marion “Bud” McCoy on September 7, 1952, in Hempstead, NY. In 1965, they relocated our family to Kingman. Together, they had 11 children. Jewel Aline Rose, of Kingman, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020. She was 82. Mrs. Rose was born Oct. 27, 1937 in Westbrook, Tex. Stabbing suspect apprehended

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Officers used non-lethal means to arrest a combative attempted homicide suspect in Lake Havasu City. An anonymous tip Friday afternoon put authorities on the trail of Gary Edwin Pappilli, 63. Mohave County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies, detectives and police located Pappilli’s vehicle before trying to make contact with occupants of a home in the 3500 block of Grelle Street. “Pappilli began yelling at the officers from inside the home, threatening that he had bombs and would blow the houe up,” Mortensen said. “Deputies began making announcements over their onboard PA systems for Pappilli…

Fire closes local eatery

KINGMAN – No one was hurt when a popular downtown Kingman eatery was evacuated Sunday, August 30, when smoke filled its kitchen area. Kingman Fire Department personnel responded to Calico’s on Beale St. at 3:23 p.m.  Assistant Fire Chief crews detected an electrical fire had spread through the attic area of the restaurant. He said little if any flame was evident though the electrical incident caused significant smoke damage between the ceiling and rooftop.  Eaton said new trusses and other extensive repairs will be required before Calico’s can reopen.  Dave Hawkins
