Deputy Secretary of the Interior proposes withdrawal for protection of Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge

The Deputy Secretary of the Interior proposes to withdraw 2,598 acres of public lands within the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge, subject to valid existing rights. This withdrawal, which would replace the expiring withdrawal at the Refuge, would continue to protect the important wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) welcomes comments on the proposed withdrawal.   Under the proposal, which largely mirrors the current withdrawal, 1,464 acres of public lands would be withdrawn from appropriation under the public land laws, including the United States mining laws,…

This sinful generation pt. 4

Dear Editor, 2 Thessalonians 1: 8-10: “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” This is my choice. How about you? Joel 3: 14 says, “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision; for the day of the…

Response to Basil Monroe’s Sept. 29 letter

Dear Editor, After reading Basil Monroe’s letter in the Sept. 29 edition of The Standard titled “This sinful generation pt. 1,” what is abundantly apparent to me is this discussion should be reserved for a church setting. When we consider the numerous flaws in religious dogma, what becomes clearly evident is sin started a long time ago. With the creation of Adam and Eve (who was created from Adam’s rib), the desire to procreate would require an incestuous relationship. Then advance to Noah’s Ark, the 600 ft. ship which supposedly held two of every species on earth for 40 days….

This sinful generation pt. 3

Dear Editor, Also Leviticus 20: 13-16: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie…
