LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – It’s finally here! Registration for the Fall 2026 Havasu Residents Academy is open. The free, eight-week program reflects the City’s commitment to transparency, civic education, and community engagement by giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates and serves the community.
The Academy runs from September 24 through November 12, with classes held on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sessions take place at rotating city facilities, providing participants with firsthand experiences and opportunities to meet elected officials, department directors, and city staff.
Developed in response to community feedback and the city’s focus on openness and connection, the Academy helps residents better understand city services, decision-making, and opportunities to become more involved in their community.
“The Havasu Residents Academy is an opportunity for residents to gain a better understanding of how their city operates while building connections with the people and services that make our community thrive,” said Community Engagement Officer Jerri Bracamonte. “Whether you’re new to Lake Havasu City or have lived here for years, the Academy provides valuable insight into local government and encourages residents to become informed and engaged members of our community.”
Throughout the program, participants will enjoy interactive presentations, facility tours, demonstrations, and discussions covering city leadership, budget, public safety, emergency response, recruitment, infrastructure, development, quality-of-life services, and long-range planning. The Academy concludes with a graduation ceremony attended by city leadership.
The Havasu Residents Academy is free and open to Lake Havasu City residents ages 18 and older who live within City limits. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants, and dinner is provided each week to accommodate working schedules.
Applications are available now and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the class is full.
