LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Council held last week included Lake Havasu City Manager Jess Knudson announcing the retirement†of Plans Examiner Carl Criswell. Criswell was with the city for five years and enforced billing codes. Knudson also shared the Elk’s Lodge Law and Order night event that happened on Saturday September 23. Corporal Brent Skancke was awarded Office of the Year. Birds cause outage in MEC western service area

BULLHEAD CITY  – On Tuesday, October 3 at 2:48 p.m., a swarm of birds flew into Mohave Electric Cooperative’s (MEC) substation area in Willow Valley. A few birds made contact with electric equipment causing an outage for 2,776 MEC members. This outage affected members across Willow and Mohave Valley, as well as the southern Fort Mohave. MEC crews responded, replaced the damaged equipment, and restored power to the majority of members at 4:14 p.m. After further repairs, the remaining 46 members were restored at 5:49 p.m. Outage restoration is important to Mohave Electric Cooperative.
