Arizona’s bears are on the move in search for an easy meal, and the Arizona Game and Fish Department reminds everyone to be safe by being Bear Aware The warning comes as department officials tranquilized and safely relocated a sub-adult male bear on Sunday, April 21 in Prescott Valley. MacAlpine receives four years probation

A Mohave Valley man convicted of drug and weapons charges was released from custody following his sentencing hearing in Kingman Wednesday, April 24. That’s because Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert imposed a 145 day jail sentence and credited Mark MacAlpine, 55, for the 145 days already spent behind bars. Officers seized dozens of weapons and a cache of ammunition when they searched MacAlpine’s home in the 7800 block of Green Valley Drive last December.  They also shut down a marijuana wax production operation discovered in the residence. A Bullhead City man was animated when he answered a Judge’s questions while indicating he was eager to enter a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Ernie Hernandez Felix, 29, responded to Judge Billy Sipe’s inquiry regarding his comprehension of the proposed plea during the April 22 hearing. “I think it’s a great deal. Land bought for new office building

A developer is purchasing land to build a new office to house state employees who work in two older offices in downtown Kingman. Harrison Properties Vice President Jeff Dalton said the transaction securing ownership of a 4.55-acre parcel between Kenneth and Adams on Airway Avenue will close in mid-May. Dalton said plans will soon be submitted seeking a building permit for the proposed construction of a 40,000 sq. ft. office on the vacant lot. Sun State Builders of Phoenix will be the contractor.
