On Friday, April 26, at approximately 4:20 p.m. multiple units were dispatched to the 1000 block of Church St. for the report of a mobile home on fire. Arriving units reported dark black smoke and flames coming from the garage and rear of a double-wide mobile home. All occupants were outside of the home and accounted for. A lot of students are looking forward to the end of the semester and summer break, and summer is also a great time to take a class at MCC. Summer classes help cut down the time it takes to get a college degree, and many people find it is a good time to take prerequisite classes, such as those required for completing the college health and nursing programs.   “In eight weeks, students can complete a course that can take 15 weeks during the fall or spring semester,” said MCC Chief of Instruction Stephen Eaton. Named as Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s Citizen of the Month at its April 26th meeting was Sarah Ferry (shown right with Rotarian Susan Williams and club president Becky Fawson). A founding member of both First Friday and Kingman Gets Trashy, Ferry also is a Main Street volunteer and serves on the Clean City Commission.

At approximately 4:20 p.m. the afternoon of April 24, several units were dispatched to the Riverview RV Resort located at 2000 Ramar Rd. for the report of a mobile home fire. Arriving units were met by the homeowners who had evacuated the home. Ladder 721s crew reported light smoke coming from the back of the mobile. Pulling an attack line firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly.
