The failing of our justice system

Dear Editor, Over the past three years I have watched the justice system fail people who need help. I have seen people be put on probation and the probation department of Kingman overlook the violations of probation time and time again. Yes, they will violate the person on probation and it goes in front of a judge. What does the judge do? Give a slap on the wrist with no real consequences. It becomes an endless cycle. Just recently there was a woman who was violated on her probation. This case went back in front of the judge. The probation…

Female WWII pilots celebrated

KINGMAN – During WWII, more than 1,000 women served as Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), freeing male pilots for combat roles at a critical time of the war. The WASP ferried planes from factories to embarkation points, performed engineer test flying of repaired aircraft, and did target towing for gunnery training. By the spring of 1944, every P-51 Mustang flown in combat had already been flown by a WASP. Join Sounds of Kingman for the Our Time, Our History Series: The Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII, presented by Natalie J. Stewart-Smith. Stewart-Smith has been an educator for more than…
