Water allocation continues to be source of friction

MOHAVE COUNTY – There’s a new development as much of western Arizona opposes recommended transfer of 4th priority Colorado River water to the Phoenix area. The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) has roughly doubled the amount of water it is recommends to be transferred to quench development thirst in the town of Queen Creek. State prison COVID outbreak confirmed

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County’s non-disclosure policy regarding location of COVID-19 outbreak left the public to speculate for five days before a huge case cluster could be confirmed at the state prison that the GEO Group operates in Golden Valley. A news release from the county last Friday reported that about 200 new coronavirus cases confirmed between last Thursday and Friday were from an unidentified congregate setting. Lathrop takes plea in drug sale case

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A prison sentence is prescribed for a Lake Havasu City drug dealer who entered a plea agreement at the Mohave County courthouse in Kingman. Robert Lathrop, 59, Lake Havasu, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of dangerous drugs for sale and misconduct involving weapons. Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson said police officers executed a Dec. 1, 2020 stop of the vehicle Lathrop was driving in the 600 block of N. KINGMAN, Ariz. – On Thursday, February 4, Kingman Municipal Airport team members, along with consultants Coffman Associates, will be holding a public input meeting regarding the ongoing environmental assessment for release of 1,813 acres of airport land.
