Some Republicans switching parties in response to Capitol riot

Members of the Republican Party in Mohave County responded to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. “The day after the Capitol incident our phones were just ringing off the hook,” said County Recorder Kristi Blair. “Some were asking to be taken off the Republican party rolls and some Republicans re-registered as independents.” Blair said the phone call blitz quickly subsided. Kingman launches small business utility assistance grant

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Economic Development Department is releasing a utility assistance grant for small businesses that have struggled to pay water/sewer/solid waste utility fees since March 2020. The City has allocated $10,200 to this program and approved applicants will be provided with a one-time credit of $300 in utility relief assistance. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County supervisors are supporting a Mohave Community College (MCC) initiative to establish an advanced manufacturing training center in Kingman. Board approval came during Monday’s meeting to send a letter of support to Dist. 5 representative Regina Cobb, who is attempting to secure supplemental funding from the state. Woman charged in boyfriend’s stabbing

KINGMAN – Chief Rusty Cooper said impairment is a suspected factor in a Kingman police department investigation of a domestic quarrel that ended in an early Thursday stabbing. Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m. to the incident in the 2500 block of Chambers Ave. Cooper said police contacted Kayla Blocker, 30, who told them that she had stabbed her boyfriend during an argument. “Officers observed blood on the floor and walls of the home,” Cooper said. “The boyfriend, who had left prior to police arrival, was not located.” Cooper said investigation produced confirmation of Blocker’s admissions as well as indication…

ADOT to replace Virgin River Bridge No. 1 along I-15 near Littlefield

Project will ensure commerce can continue through corridor  PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation is set to begin work on replacing Virgin River Bridge No. 1 along Interstate 15 with a brand new bridge that will increase safety and help the corridor to continue carrying commerce for decades to come.
