Stehly recalls fail

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman has informed a political action committee that it has failed in its attempt to recall council member Jamie Scott Stehly. City Manager Ron Foggin said recall petitions that Steve Robinson submitted Tuesday afternoon for the Stehly recall contained 992 unverified signatures. UniSource requests voluntary natural gas conservation through Sunday

UniSource Energy Services is asking natural gas customers to conserve natural gas through the weekend to help ease a supply shortage in Texas and other states. Severe winter weather has driven up demand for natural gas and contributed to power outages affecting millions of residents. Although UniSource expects to maintain a sufficient supply of natural gas to serve customers, it is joining other utilities in asking customers for voluntary energy conservation to support system reliability throughout the southwestern United States. Electoral college supports minoritarianism

Dear Editor, Mr. Wesley Maroney raises a valid point regarding the Electoral College keeping a balance between states representation. My objection to this system lies within the figures. Consider this. California has a population of approximately 40 million people and 55 members comprise its Electoral College allotted votes, a roughly calculated ratio of one elector to 700,000 people. Wyoming has a population in the 580,000 range with three members in its Electoral College. This results in another roughly calculated ratio of one elector to 200,000 people. KINGMAN – Hana Meds, a vertically integrated cannabis company today announces the opening of adult-use sales to consumers 21 and over at its Green Valley and Kingman, Ariz. dispensary locations.  Last November, the passage of Prop 207 known as the Smart and Safe Arizona Act, legalized recreational cannabis in the state. The Arizona Department of Health Services started accepting dual license applications in January from current medical marijuana operators wanting to expand into the recreational market. DOLAN SPRINGS – The Mohave County Sheriff’s office has released the name of the man who is believed to have taken his own life during a SWAT team standoff in Dolan Springs last Friday. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen identified the decedent as James Allen Burroughs, 44. Mortensen said deputies responding to a 3:54 a.m. report of a domestic disturbance encountered gunfire from Burroughs when they arrived at the residence in the area of N Jasper Dr. and W.
