MOHAVE COUNTY – Men and women who want to become firefighters should now fill out an application for the next MCC Fire Academy. Mohave Community College’s Fire Science program partners with local fire stations to offer the best education and training in the region. Completion of the fire academy is a requirement for anyone who wants to become a firefighter. The MCC Fire Academy is a 272-hour course providing recruits training in basic firefighting concepts including fire behavior, rescue procedures, command and control, fire suppression, hazardous materials, and firefighter safety. Gary Victor Muir passed away June 30, 2021 in Kingman, Arizona. He was born in Palo Alto, California 73 years ago. He was the son of Ray and Esther Muir. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan of Chloride, Ariz.; his son Kevin Muir of Hawaii; and stepson David Miranda of California. Legislators unveil new, more secure ballot design

KINGMAN – On Monday, Mohave County’s three legislators updated the Kingman Republican Women on the results of the 55th Arizona Legislative session. Senator Borrelli (R) displayed a sample of a new ballot that is virtually impossible to counterfeit. The ballot features special paper with a hologram, a QR Code, and a copper infused image of the State of Arizona which can be scanned and if it doesn’t beep it is suspect.
