Man dies in Laughlin casino

LAUGHLIN, Nev. – A man was killed during an early Friday fight inside a Laughlin casino. Laughlin Metro police responded at 1:20 a.m. to the incident at the Aquarius Resort. A press release indicates arriving officers found an unresponsive male on the floor of the casino. The man was pronounced dead following transport to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City. MEC warns members of potential scam

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members need to be aware of a potential scam. Members have been calling the MEC Member Services Office after receiving both an automated and live person call. The recorded message and live person call had a similar dialogue: “This is the power company. If you don’t pay over the phone, we will disconnect” or a close variation. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Supervisor Jean Bishop has been developing a plan for spending her 4th District’s share of $41.5-million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
