OATMAN – Come down to Oatman on Saturday, Jan. 25, for the Great Oatman Bed Races. Watch as teams of five haul a metal-framed bed on wheels (one member rides on the bed) down a dusty stretch of the center of town to a station where a waiting bed must be made up with sheets and pillow cases before racing the original bed on wheels back to where they started, or the finish line. Team registration, which includes four pushers and one rider, is $50.Some of the town’s legendary wild, wandering burros look on. This is good old-fashioned family fun!…

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Over the past six weeks, detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit investigated two incidents that occurred on November 25, 2019, at two retail stores located at 100 Retail Centre Blvd in Lake Havasu City. The two stores, Home Depot and PetSmart, received a letter from an unknown person that contained threatening statements of an explosive device being placed at the business unless a ransom was delivered to a specific location. In one of the scams, the caller indicates that your iCloud account has been compromised. The caller has you access your phone settings to turn certain functions off and on. The caller then asks you to access a specific website from your iPhone. This gives the caller access to your personal device and all of the information on your phone.
