Power outage affects 2,000 members

BULLHEAD CITY – Approximately 2,000 Mohave Electric Cooperative members experienced a loss of power Tuesday morning, Feb. 11. An outage was reported at 5:30 a.m. affecting nearly 2,048 members. MEC crews responded and restored power just before 8 a.m. The outage affected an area ranging from the Bullhead City Walmart to Mohave Community College. Strong morning winds played a part. “Mother Nature played a role in the loss of power,” said Rick Campos, chief operating officer at MEC. “It can be dangerous working in conditions like this and I’m proud of our linemen for restoring power as quickly and safely…

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has announced the promotion of Justin Sharpe to the rank of Sergeant. Sharpe has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, experience, and determination to excel in his new rank at the Adult Detention Facility. He is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Sharpe started his career as a Detention Officer in April of 2013.
