County library addition continues

KINGMAN – T.R. Orr Incorporated is making progress as it remodels and expands the Mohave County District Library on Burbank Street in Kingman. Library Director Kathy Pennell said the $4.3-million project continues tracking toward completion before the end of the year. Pennell credits staff for working through the challenge of operating while under construction, particularly given complications associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’re here to help. We’re doing things differently,” she said. “We’re still ready to assist and go the extra mile to get patrons they things they are looking for.” The 15,000 square foot library that opened 28 years ago…

Deputy found innocent of wrongdoing in shooting death

KINGMAN – A Mohave County Attorney’s Office review confirms a Kingman police department conclusion that an ex-con fatally shot himself in the head just before he suffered a gunshot to the elbow from a round fired by Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy Kevin Gunnoe. County attorney Matt Smith reviewed the independent shooting investigation and the medical examiner report involving the May 13 death of Buddy Dale Lott, 50. “Lott died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his left temple.
