County library addition continues

KINGMAN – T.R. Orr Incorporated is making progress as it remodels and expands the Mohave County District Library on Burbank Street in Kingman. Library Director Kathy Pennell said the $4.3-million project continues tracking toward completion before the end of the year.

Pennell credits staff for working through the challenge of operating while under construction, particularly given complications associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re here to help. We’re doing things differently,” she said. “We’re still

ready to assist and go the extra mile to get patrons they things they are looking for.”

The 15,000 square foot library that opened 28 years ago is being upgraded and new construction is adding 11,000 square feet of space. Administration that has been housed in a modular building will be relocated inside the new facility.
