KATHERINE ELIZABETH SCHIFFERT

Katherine Elizabeth Schiffert, of Chloride, died Thursday, September 26, 2019. She was 87. Mrs. Schiffert was born Dec. 16, 1931 in Middleport, NY. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Chloride Cemetery. The family contact is her daughter Linda Jo Shaffer. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.

U.S. Air Force Airman Peyton Speed graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Speed is the son of Rhonda and Rodney Speed of Lancaster, California. He is the grandson of Peggy Hatfield of Lake Havasu City, and son-in-law of Jaycee Gill of Ridgecrest, California….

Flag Football and Cheer Are you ready for some flag football?  Registration is open for area youth, currently enrolled in first through sixth grades, for the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Flag Football and Cheer program.  Cost is $52 per participant, which includes a t-shirt for football players or t-shirt and pompoms for cheerleaders.  This program is a great way to learn key components of the game, develop skills, and play as a team in a safe and fun environment. Kino, Airway Avenue closure, restrictions next week in Kingman

KINGMAN – Beginning Monday, September 30 at 9 a.m., Kino Avenue will be closed from Kenneth Road through Willow Rd. until October 17. The Willow Rd. intersection will remain open during this time. The project to install a new water transmission main on Kino Ave., between Arizona Street to the Mohave Wash, started August 12. Portions of Kino Ave. will be closed throughout the project, and detours will be in place for street closures. The contractor, Freiday Construction, is working with residents in the area regarding notification, but no water service delays or disruptions are scheduled to take place. This…
