Why the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center is filled with art

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center holds their weekly painting classes every Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. These classes are available to adults of any age for merely $2 per class. People with any level of art skills are welcome to join. The class is low-structure and adaptable to whatever level an attendee may be on. The center has enough art supplies to lend to anyone who would like to test out the class. Many more experienced people in the class are willing to give tips and help out other members of the class on their projects.

People also bring in colored pencils, coloring books, or whatever art supplies they would like to use in the painting class.

Linda Buoy showcased one of her architectural paintings up for sale and hanging at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center.

People attending painting classes at the Kathryn Heidenreich Center say this is a great way to connect with their community, get out of the house, and interact with others. “It gives us a place to go and socialize and do our crafts,” states Linda Buoy, painting class attendee and member of the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center.

Several people taking the class either decide to donate their art to the center to put up for sale or sell the paintings themselves. A mural of paintings up for sale can be found within the center, many with their own array of backstories.

For more information on Kathryn Heidenreich Center’s painting class, or other $2 classes to join, contact the center at (928) 757-2778.
