KINGMAN – A mandatory prison plea agreement has been entered to resolve another child pornography case. Terms of the deal unveiled March 6 will send Dylan Sturgin, 20, Kingman, to prison for seven years, followed by lifetime probation.
Five sexual exploitation of a minor charges are dismissed while three others are reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor convictions.
A tip from the International Crimes Against Children task force about child porn downloading activity early last year led to a Mohave County Sheriff’s investigation. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said thumb and flash drives, laptops and a cellphone were among the electronic devices seized during a December 10, 2024 search of Sturgin’s residence in the 3700 block of Rainbow Drive.
Deputy Mohave County Attorney Christopher Giles informed Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle that the conviction counts involve three short videos discovered on Sturgin’s cell phone that featured underage minors engaging in various sexual activity.
Lifetime post-prison engagement in registered sex offender protocols are another punishment component. Judge Carlisle scheduled an April 4 sentencing hearing.
