Quilts, quilts, quilts!

Former U.S. Marine corporal, Vietnam veteran and Golden Valley resident John Hoeft displays the quilt with attendees of the Community Organization of Meadview (COM) after receiving a gift from the Meadview Red, White and Blue Quilters. Many military veterans attended the COM meeting to witness Hoeft receive his quilt and “little prayer pillow” for his three years of military service in the Marines and his tour of duty in Khe Sahn, Vietnam, during TET of 1968. The quilters of Meadview have designed and made more than 1,000 quilts in past years and have presented them to deserving people. Photo courtesy Butch Meriwether
