Lewis arrested after attempted robbery

A local man was arrested after an attempted robbery of a business in Fort Mohave Tuesday. Deputies responded at 5:50 p.m. to the unidentified business in the 4700 block of Highway 95. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said employees indicated that the suspect identified as Augustine Gabriel Lewis, 39, entered the business and immediately looked around nervously before pulling out a knife as he approached the counter. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said another employee went to the back of the business and called for help. Hutchinson smuggled drugs prior to inmate overdoses

Investigation has determined that a jail inmate used a body cavity to smuggle dangerous drugs into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman. That’s the primary update from the Mohave County Sheriff’s office regarding the April 16 hospitalization of five jail inmates for treatment of overdoses within the jail. Detectives learned that inmate Jonathan Hutchinson, 24, of Parker, had smuggled contraband into the Detention Facility in his body cavity,” a news release stated. “The investigation revealed that Hutchinson had smuggled into the Detention Facility approximately 30 counterfeit hydrocodone 30 mg pills and an unknown amount of methamphetamine.” Sheriff’s office…

Site Six scheduled maintenance is Thursday

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In an effort to provide better accommodations, the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the closure of the Site Six launch ramp, fishing pier and surrounding area, on Thursday, October 1 from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to perform underwater maintenance on the fishing pier.
