Fashion show fundraiser to benefit cancer association

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The excitement is building as the Havasu Community Health Foundation (HCHF) prepares for their 32nd Annual Elegant Evenings Fashion Show fundraiser. The Cancer Association is with HCHF and was organized in 1999 by group of local volunteers.  The aim is to put emphasize on cancer screenings at a low cost. The group provides education and a support system for cancer patients and their families.

They are strong believers that early detection is best method to increase positive diagnosis. The Cancer Association raises money in Lake Havasu that will be beneficial to the residents.  The association hosts other events throughout the year to celebrate the survivors of cancer with their National Survivors Cancer Day.  The day is celebrated twice a year.

Once in June with a breakfast and again with their end of the year celebration every December.  The cancer association is no stranger to selling our for their annual elegant fashion show event. This year the Winter Wonderland themed occasion will give attendees a peek of the many fashionable stores in town.  Fashions from Olive and Ella, Denim and Diamonds, Bling, Chic Again, Dillards, and much more will displayed at the fundraiser.

The show will also have a silent auction provided by their sponsors, a no host bar, grand raffle prize, and a light meal.  Tickets were sixty dollars and purchases for them will be going towards low cost mammograms and other Cancer Association programs.  This year’s Elegant Evening Fashion Show will be on Wednesday Nov.15.  Doors open at 6pm and the show will begin at 7pm at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center.  Since 2016, Kathy Jo Baumer has been the chair person of one the town’s most popular events.

The charity she has seen over years from Havasu still overwhelms her even today.  “I love the enthusiasm I see from the community every year.  Their generosity is just astounding.” The Cancer Association is passionate about showing the community that charity is a trend that should never go out of style.
