Development fees adopted for Kingman

KINGMAN – Formal and final adoption of development fees came at Tuesday’s Kingman City council meeting. The 5-2 vote was expected as council members Keith Walker and Cherish Sammeli expressed a mix of reservation and opposition through various junctures in the process that will see the fees implemented in early October.

Vice Mayor Ken Watkins said the adopted fees will generate about half the revenue than the original proposal. He said the compromise appears workable.

Council member Sue Ann Mello noted that a previous Kingman Council rescinded development fees about a decade ago. She said the city can do the same if program monitoring determines they do not achieve desired results.

  1. Appalling. Won’t generate enough to do anything for years. Adds costs to already too high housing. Can’t be used to repair roads. Jen’s fantasy. Fogged In’s mistake.
