KINGMAN — The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has provided a few more details of a deadly traffic accident involving two pickup trucks, one of them a vehicle assigned to the City of Kingman’s Public Works Department.
The crash on Historic Route 66 about three miles north of the Kingman city limits occurred about 5:47 a.m. on October 7.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves said a Ford F150 was eastbound while the RAM 3500 utility truck was westbound when the F150 crossed the center of the highway, striking the utility truck head on.
“The driver of the F150 was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Graves said. “The driver of the victim vehicle was transported by ambulance to Kingman Regional Medical Center and admitted for non-life-threatening injuries.”
The deceased was identified as Larry Galves, 77, Los Ranchos, New Mexico. The name of the hospitalized city employee was withheld given privacy courtesy afforded traffic accident victims.
