KYAC students launch first service project

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Youth Advisory Council is excited to share that they have launched their first community service project. In partnership with and in support of Sleep In Heavenly Peace and the local homeless shelters, the Council is conducting a bedding and coat/hoodie drive. They will be collecting new twin bedding sets and new or gently used coats and hoodies from now until February 25, 2025. There are collection drop boxes available at the following locations:

* Kingman City Complex 310 N. 4th Street

* Kingman Chamber of Commerce 309 E. Beale Street

* Lee Williams High School 400 Grandview Avenue

* Kingman Academy of Learning High School 3420 N. Burbank Street

“We are super excited to help those in need with our first project and are hopeful to collect many items for them. At our first meeting, both Sleep in Heavenly Peace and the shelters stood out to us as organizations we wanted to support,” said KYAC Chairperson Sophia Meredith.

If an organization would like to make a monetary donation to support the project, they can submit donations to the City Clerk’s office located at 310 N. 4th Street.
