KINGMAN – In September of 2019 the Kingman Police Department (KPD) was one of the first agencies in Arizona to be accredited through the AZ Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP). The accreditation program requires that accredited agencies undergo annual review and a formal on-site visit every four years.
During the week of August 9, Captain Larry Jones, of the Page Police Department, and Commander Jason Christofferson, of the Peoria Police Department, performed the ‘on-site’ assessment of KPD. During the on-site visit the assessors are given full access to agency policies, procedures, training program and staff.
On September 14, during the AZ Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) annual conference KPD was awarded a Certificate of Reaccreditation through the AZ Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP).
Being an ALEAP accredited agency ensures that KPD meets or exceeds national best practices and industry standards for quality and professional delivery of efficient police services. This reaccreditation is the result of the professionalism and dedication of the entire KPD team. The Kingman Police Department continues to be dedicated to a philosophy and culture of excellence.
