Kingman nonprofit distributes donations to community centers

KINGMAN – The Kingman Youth Advisory Council (KYAC) distributed donations to three community centers. Over the past two months, KYAC collected 100 brand new youth coats, two large bags of gently used coats and hoodies, as well as over 50 sets of twin bedding.

“This past weekend, we were able to distribute the youth coat donations we collected to the Boys & Girls Club, the Kingman Aid to Abused People, and Angel Manor. Each organization we visited was extremely thankful for the donations,” said KYAC Chairperson Sophia Meredith.

Meredith also noted that they have more coats and hoodies to distribute in the coming weeks to additional organizations.

The youth council members will be assisting Sleep in Heavenly Peace with upcoming bed builds and will have the opportunity to distribute some of the bedding they collected as well.

“We are incredibly proud of the youth and the positive impact they are already making in their community. They are a highly motivated group of young people with fantastic ideas,” said City Manager Tim Walsh.
