Indecent exposure nets 11 years

KINGMAN – Some 11.25 years in prison has been ordered for a Kingman man who denies engaging in sexual activity with an eight-year-old girl. Monte Anderson, 53, was sentenced Tuesday, Jan. 2 by Judge Billy Sipe.

The punishment was stipulated in a plea agreement that was crafted and entered on Dec. 5, the day that Anderson’s trial was to begin at the Law and Justice Center. Anderson pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent exposure involving the victim but a sexual conduct with a minor charge was dismissed.

Public Defender Paul Amann said Anderson was always adamant that he never touched the girl “but acknowledged that he should have done more to make certain she was not exposed to him while he was unclothed.” It was not disputed that Anderson was convicted in a similar case roughly 30 years ago.
