Havasu choir to perform famous broadway songs for annual spring show

LAKE HAVASU CITY – If you love the songs of those famous Broadway musicals or you’re just curious about popular tunes of the past, The Lake Havasu Community Choir (LHCC) has a show in store that will let your ears reminisce, and cure your curiosity.

Created in 1974, LHCC is a choir filled with volunteers located in Lake Havasu City. The musical nonprofit over the years has brought together people longing to sing and join the ensemble while enchanting audiences twice a year with entertaining concerts for the entire community.

The well-established singing group performs each winter to warm everyone’s heart with cheer during the holiday season and each spring, the group returns to once more bring musical memories back for a new season.

Next week, the choir will celebrate the music of some of Broadway’s most famous melodies at their Stroll Down Broadway concert. The Sunday afternoon performance will have you singing along to the harmonies of some the most historic Broadway shows like Old Man River from Showboat, Wickerd’s tune “Defying Gravity,” “Let the Sun Shine In” from the riveting 1968 musical Hair, and other recognizable songs from timeless shows like Grease. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash only. Adult admission is fifteen dollars while students only pay five dollars.

A Stroll Down Broadway by The Lake Havasu Community Choir will be happening on Sunday March 30 starting at 3 p.m. at the Lake Havasu Performing Arts Centers.

Get ready to listen and sing along to the melodies that have made Broadway history and will continue to transcend into the hearts of future generations. Ticket sale proceeds go will go to high schoolers who wish to pursue a future in music education or receive singing lessons.
