Please donate for Arizona Burn Foundation

Dear Editor, Please consider making a donation, no matter its size, for former Kingman resident Glenn Jordan’s inspirational journey from his near fatal experience into charity for others. Glenn and his wife Cindy remain closely connected to Kingman with family and friends in town and a history of community involvement. Glenn was badly burned and nearly died from injuries sustained in an Aug. 26, 2021 natural gas explosion that also critically injured three other men at a commercial strip complex in Chandler. I’m both thrilled and proud to report that 27 months later, after a painful healing and recovery process,…

Forgive and forget? Not in this world

Dear Editor, Some people try to forgive but they never forget.  The people of Israel will never forget the October 7th massacre by Hamas which barbarically took the lives of over 1400 people. The goal of Israel now is to eliminate Hamas by whatever means it takes.  In the process of Israel now avenging their rage, innocent civilian Palestinians are being killed by Israel’s aggression. Thousands are being killed. What is this doing to the minds of the Palestinians? Palestinians who survive Israel’s aggression will forever have an internal malice and hate toward Israel that will never be forgotten. Most likely…

The Flag Issue & Veterans Day

Dear Editor, As a veteran and the former parade organizer for several years, here in Kingman, I would like to insert my thoughts on the current issues that involved Flags in the Kingman Veterans Day Parade. To quote the secretary of defense “Flags are powerful symbols…” In history, military units from the earliest time would follow their Flag into battle.  In early times there were Coats Of Arms held above the battlefield so the armies could identify were their unit or leaders were located. The term “rally round the flag” can have various meanings depending what context it is used…

Be grateful if you aren’t in the story

Dear Editor, I’m burned out watching the news. I don’t enjoy feeling like I want to throw up. There has to be more to life than taking in the world headlines every morning and every evening. However, I have to pause and give thanks because I’m not part of the news story. I don’t want to be because news is typically bad.  When you turn on the morning or evening news the first few minutes is filled with all the bad news in the world and your area. Innocent people in Israel being ripped apart by hate-filled religious terrorists.  Innocent civilians…
