Our legal system is too liberal

Dear Editor, Many years back I had loads of faith and trust in our legal system. Sadly to say, I lost faith and I certainly don’t trust them as I once did. Our legal system is way too liberal and they only care for the guilty, and not us American taxpaying citizens. They would rather see us in fear, than let us have justice. Here is a very serious question for you to think strongly on. Why pay tax if we are not able to receive free legal counsel? The guilty get free counseling but the victims of unjust treatment…

Kingman Farmers Market will be open during Andy Devine Days

Dear Editor, We celebrated “National Responsible Pet Owner Day” at our market on September 21. It was so much fun! We had 12 vendors, 429 human guests and many canine guests including six who came from Mohave County Animal Shelter looking for “Furever ” homes. In addition to the fun with furry friends Pegge Moore demonstrated how to make unique vases from canning jars, acrylic paints, burlap and a few flowers. They look great and are very economical gifts for the upcoming holidays, wedding or just for that special person. More fun when The Dale Gillespie Blues Project created mellow…

Animal shelter should take note of model facility

Dear Editor, Regardless of where the new animal shelter gets located, I hope that the decisionmakers for this venture will visit the Nevada SPCA at 4800 W. Dewey Drive in Las Vegas before they finalize their plans. The facility is clean, bright and quiet, and the procedure they use makes so much sense: the reception area has chairs and tables and a play area, and at the counter there’s a touchscreen where you can look at pictures of all the animals and read a little bit about them. You tell one of the volunteers which dog you want to see…

Non-believer claims climate change is a hoax

Dear Editor, WELL I PROMISE YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE THIS ONE FOLKS, “EXCEPT IF YOU’RE A CORRUPTOCRAT”. YOU’LL HATE THE “VERY SOON AND BUT LATER PART” OF THIS READ…. For the last couple weeks I’ve had this rather hard lump about the size of a quarter on my lower left jaw area. You can visually see it and feel it both inside and outside. It is sore when I or anyone touches it. Also have swelling around and on my left cheek area. Three days ago I see my dentist for a full exam of it and he takes an…

Both parties to blame for economic problems

Dear Editor, THE USA AND TRADE TARIFFS, I GUESS WE LOVE GETTING HAMMERED…So here we are now realizing we’ve been getting completely hammered all these years with these huge trade imbalances. Oh that’s NOT even the worst of it. Now realize this nation actually has enough full blown idiots that have gotten beat for so many years and for so long, they actually love getting their rears reamed. This has never been an issue caused just by corruptocrats BUT by republicans, as well. THAT’S RIGHT, BY “BOTH” PARTIES. BUT IF YOU THINK FOR ONE MINUTE THAT’S THE REAL PROBLEM CONSIDER…

Letters raise questions

Dear Editor, Interesting letters from Mr. Mike Nelson and Mr. Butch Meriwether in the Sept. 4, edition of The Standard. I do have a question for you to consider. Mr. Nelson: Do you realize fossil fuels exist in a finite quantity? What do you suppose future generations will use instead, when fossil fuels are exhausted? And Mr. Meriwether: You say, “I myself would rather drive on my quad to the location where the bugs or flowers are so I could take a picture of them.” Where would you go to take a picture of a passenger pigeon? I understand the…
