Electoral College helps keep balance between states

Dear Editor, I am writing in reference to Mr. Lloyd Dickson of Seligman’s letter, to his statement.” Do away with the Electoral College”. I am writing with a background of service to America. I served in the Regular Army and as a Reserve Soldier for 33 years and three wars. Earning the rank of Sergeant Major. In my civilian life, I served in Law Enforcement for 39 years. From the entry position of Deputy – up to Chief Deputy and then on to Chief of Police. My family has served the Republic in the Military from service in the Revelation,…

Can you survive financially?

Dear Editor, Americans are no strangers to hard economic times. Poverty still exists. Millions struggle with financial despair.  The answers are not always easy but here are possibilities. Look into your local community college and see what training is offered. One and two year programs are typically taught in our public community colleges. In as little as a year or maybe two at the most you could be in…

Lies continue to divide the country

Dear Editor, “The Enemy Within”, seems to be emanating mostly from those affiliated with the right! Oh brother the right is full of un-righteous indignation. The very idea their precious leader may actually be held accountable for his actions has their eyes bulging and teeth clenched. Gasp, horrors! Just imagine the unmitigated gall of the pesky majority of voters who opted for a change of leadership. Voters who finally grew silly sick and tired of the unending lies and incompetence of the Trump Administration. Everyone beware! We are headed in the direction of socialism. Why just look how well we…

Welcome hard-working legal immigrants

Dear Editor, Americans can expect more immigrants to enter our country in the months and years ahead. Most Americans aren’t opposed to more citizens. Many of us are not favorable to undocumented foreigners roaming about our country.  I’ve been to Mexico and a few other countries. I’ve always had to show my passport and answer questions when entering another country or coming back to America. It only takes a few minutes. Many years ago, my sons and I stood in a line of about a hundred people coming back to San Diego from Tijuana, Mexico. We showed our Driver’s license back…
