Dear Editor, America needs attention to our infrastructure. It’s pathetic that our Congress and President are having so much trouble putting something together they can agree on. We managed to spend the equivalent of a trillion dollars in today’s currency on the Vietnam war. What did we get for a trillion dollars? Over 58,000 dead American soldiers. Plus, over 1,500 missing in action and thousands of wounded, many of which were never recovered. We lost 4,497 American soldiers in Iraq. We spent two trillion dollars in Iraq. Dear Editor, At the regular meeting this month, Governor Candidate Matt Salmon told the Kingman Republican Women that he is a fighter for conservative beliefs, is 100% pro-life, and supports the death penalty for heinous crimes. “I have done everything I can to protect the sanctity of life and I believe the 2nd amendment is there to protect the rest of the constitution,” he said. “That is what it is there for, to protect us from a tyrannical government. Dear Editor, Valle Vista is a Property Owners Association with by-laws and CL-R’s, so make sure you read them. Also make sure you have your builder get permits from our office before you get them from Mohave County. That way you will get started here by following our by-laws and CL-R’s. We have a nice community church, a 72-hole golf course and clubhouse, and a park and pool. We have a small fire station that doesn’t believe in fire hazards. There are at least two wineries in the area. We play bocce ball and bingo and darts that the community…

Dear Editor, If you are making less than $40,000 a year, then you probably don’t care that single people making over $523,601 pay 37% of their income in federal taxes. Married people filing jointly making over $628,301 also pay 37%. These people make it and can afford to pay it, we often say. What affects someone else doesn’t bother us that much when it comes to income and taxes. Let’s say you are making $35,000 this year but next year you have an opportunity to make $45,000.
