Infrastructure bill should be a cakewalk

Dear Editor, America needs attention to our infrastructure. It’s pathetic that our Congress and President are having so much trouble putting something together they can agree on. We managed to spend the equivalent of a trillion dollars in today’s currency on the Vietnam war. What did we get for a trillion dollars? Over 58,000 dead American soldiers. Plus, over 1,500 missing in action and thousands of wounded, many of which were never recovered.  We lost 4,497 American soldiers in Iraq. We spent two trillion dollars in Iraq. We had over 32,000 other casualties. What does America have to show for…

Salmon makes case for Governor to Kingman Republican Women

Dear Editor, At the regular meeting this month, Governor Candidate Matt Salmon told the Kingman Republican Women that he is a fighter for conservative beliefs, is 100% pro-life, and supports the death penalty for heinous crimes. “I have done everything I can to protect the sanctity of life and I believe the 2nd amendment is there to protect the rest of the constitution,” he said. “That is what it is there for, to protect us from a tyrannical government. I won’t compromise on the 2nd amendment.” Salmon served two terms in the Arizona Senate and three terms in the U.S….

Some like it hot, some like it cold

Dear Editor, Valle Vista is a Property Owners Association with by-laws and CL-R’s, so make sure you read them. Also make sure you have your builder get permits from our office before you get them from Mohave County. That way you will get started here by following our by-laws and CL-R’s. We have a nice community church, a 72-hole golf course and clubhouse, and a park and pool. We have a small fire station that doesn’t believe in fire hazards. There are at least two wineries in the area. We play bocce ball and bingo and darts that the community…

Who will pay for the $2 trillion infrastructure project?

Dear Editor, If you are making less than $40,000 a year, then you probably don’t care that single people making over $523,601 pay 37% of their income in federal taxes. Married people filing jointly making over $628,301 also pay 37%. These people make it and can afford to pay it, we often say. What affects someone else doesn’t bother us that much when it comes to income and taxes. Let’s say you are making $35,000 this year but next year you have an opportunity to make $45,000. Suddenly your federal tax rate increases from 12% to 22%. This is a…

Please stop depriving taxpayers of our medications

Dear Editor, It really makes my blood boil when the medical insurance companies, force people to deal with pain. It is unjust and very inhumane, not to mention unethical to make people deal with pain, due to prior authorization. Here is a serious question for the insurance companies to ponder on: Who do you think you are by ignoring our doctor’s request on certain medication? How would you feel if it was done to you? Here are 5 Bible scriptures to look up: 1) John 4: 16; 2) Exodus 20: 15; 3) Exodus 20: 13; 4) Job 2: 7; 5)…
