LAKE HAVASU CITY – As warmer temperatures will be approaching Lake Havasu, many people will be heading out to our beautiful lake for swimming, fishing, and boating activities  for ultimate cool downs. However, safety on the lake should be a top priority to ensure that time spent on the water remains an enjoyable occasion.  That is why this month, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating and Safety will be collaborating Arizona Game and Fishing Department (G&F) to  share the importance on how wearing a life jacket in good condition that fits comfortably is key for having safe adventures at the lake….

KINGMAN – Mohave County Department of Public Health was notified of an incident which involves a bobcat, a wild animal. The animal tested positive for rabies in the Aquarius Mountain area (east of Kingman, off I-40). The county’s Public Health Nurses are working with the humans exposed to the bobcat while Game and Fish and Animal Control are dealing with the animal exposed. The rabies virus causes severe damage to the central nervous system causing erratic behavior and death. KINGMAN – The Kingman Area Literacy Program (KALP) is excited to announce the launch of its summer tutoring session aimed at enhancing the reading skills of children in second to sixth grade. The summer session is set to begin in June 2024 and volunteers will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children by helping them improve their reading abilities and confidence. Teaching or tutoring experience is not required as volunteers will receive training, resources, and support thanks to Cookie Barron, KALP’s new Small Group Tutoring Coordinator.
