MCC Bullhead Campus Phi Theta Kappa inducts new members

MOHAVE COUNTY – Twenty-Six Mohave Community College students from the Bullhead Campus have been inducted to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society-Alpha Chi Psi chapter during an induction ceremony with friends and family. The ceremony’s guest speaker was Grace Hecht from Make Bullhead Better and former MCC alumna. The ceremony also honored graduating members.  Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is to recognize and encourage scholarships among two-year college students by providing an opportunity for leadership, service, and development. Fugitive apprehended in Bullhead City

BULLHEAD CITY – An alleged one-man crime wave has been apprehended in Bullhead City. Richard Leonard, a fugitive named in arrest warrants for a number of incidents in Feb. and March, has been taken into custody. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Leonard, 21, was arrested Monday, March 25 in the area of Highway 95 and Sixth St. “Over the past two months, Leonard entered the restricted area inside managers’ offices at three different businesses and stole money, phones, keys and other items,” Fromelt said. “He was also identified as a suspect in vehicle thefts, including an incident where he crashed…

Safeway parking lot fight ends in arrest

BULLHEAD CITY – An altercation that produced a knife-related injury is under investigation by the Bullhead City Police Department. The 32-year-old Mesa man who used the knife claims he did so in self-defense, according to Police Department Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. KINGMAN – Attorneys and Judge Billy Sipe completed plans for a Lake Havasu City man’s murder trial next month during a March 2 final management conference. Angel Caldera, 22, is charged with second-degree murder for the death of his teenage roommate nearly a year ago. Arnell Bell, 19, suffered multiple gunshots last May 17 following an argument at Caldera’s residence in the 2500 block of McCulloch Boulevard.
