With warm weather returning, the Arizona Department of Transportation is resuming projects to repair and preserve the surfaces of state highways in Arizona’s high country. While ADOT works to minimize delays for those traveling to and from northern Arizona, including not scheduling work over weekends and holidays, highways at higher elevations can only be paved during warmer months. The Kingman Fire Department is seeking individual or corporate donations, in order to restore Kingman’s first ever fire apparatus, known as the “FROG.” Initial restoration estimates to get the “FROG” running again, are upwards of $25,000, so the department is looking for the community’s help to keep this important piece of history alive.
