City Improves Lake Havasu Avenue

As the Lake Havasu Avenue construction nears completion, a series of intersection closures is required to allow for paving work, beginning Monday, May 20. Closures at the Mesquite Avenue intersection occurs on Monday, May 20, and the Swanson Avenue intersection on Tuesday, May 21, to allow for base paving. Additionally, closures occur at the McCulloch Boulevard intersection on Wednesday, May 22, Mesquite Avenue intersection on Thursday, May 23, and Swanson Avenue intersection on Friday, May 24, to allow for the last leg of paving. Boyea receives five years for attempted murder

A five year prison term was ordered May 10 for a stabbing that occurred in Bullhead City almost a year ago. Michael Scott Boyea, 35, pleaded guilty to attempted murder for the May 21, 2018 incident. Prosecutor Jaimye Ashley previously stated that the violence occurred shortly after Boyea arrived at a friend’s home at 821 Glenn Drive. “He walked behind the victim and stabbed the victim in the neck and back approximately five times,” Ashley said during the March 6 change of plea hearing. Improvement projects ramping up along Arizona’s high country highways

With warm weather returning, the Arizona Department of Transportation is resuming projects to repair and preserve the surfaces of state highways in Arizona’s high country. While ADOT works to minimize delays for those traveling to and from northern Arizona, including not scheduling work over weekends and holidays, highways at higher elevations can only be paved during warmer months. Kingman Fire Department seeking donations to restore historical “FROG”

The Kingman Fire Department is seeking individual or corporate donations, in order to restore Kingman’s first ever fire apparatus, known as the “FROG.” Initial restoration estimates to get the “FROG” running again, are upwards of $25,000, so the department is looking for the community’s help to keep this important piece of history alive.
