The Bullhead City Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 90 years—to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. The Bullhead City Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction Clowning program has become a community favorite and an effective way for our members to teach Fire and Life Safety messages at our local elementary schools. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Annual Youth Talent Show brought to you by the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department through the generous contribution of Lake Havasu Marina, takes place on Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. on the Stage under the London Bridge. Applications for spring turkey, javelina, bison and bear must be received online by the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) no later than 11:59 p.m. (Arizona time) Tuesday, Oct. 8. A record number of bald eagle breeding areas couldn’t guarantee another shattered record of eagle nestlings, which dipped to 71 during the 2019 breeding season from 87 hatched in 2018.  During the Arizona Game and Fish Department annual bald eagle survey this summer, raptor biologists counted a minimum of 74 occupied breeding areas statewide, which was up from the 69 counted last year. Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for delays The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists with travel plans on State Route 95 south of Lake Havasu City to plan ahead and expect delays of up to 15 minutes from Sunday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 9. North- and southbound lane closures are scheduled to occur daily from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning north of the Bill Williams Bridge (milepost 162) to Sara Park (milepost 175).
