LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement during the July 4th holiday weekend, Friday July 3 through Sunday July 5. Funding for this effort is provided by a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in honor of Independence Day. There will be no residential or commercial trash service on Friday; Thursday and Friday customers should put their cans out one day early. KART services will not be available Friday, July 3 or Saturday July 4, as well. City aquatics facilities will be open Friday, July 3 and Saturday July 4, under their regular schedule listed on the city website. For those that choose to celebrate at home, they ask that you understand the risks of handling fireworks and know how to prevent serious injury. KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department, in conjunction with the Western AZ DUI Task Force, will be out providing extra patrol this July 4th Independence Day weekend looking for impaired drivers. If you chose to drink, please don’t drive. You are being patriotic if you designate a sober driver!! Arizona has severe penalties for impaired drivers which is recognized as a violent crime. Anyone arrested for DUI drugs or DUI alcohol will go to jail and their vehicle will be impounded.
