COVID-19 update: 70 new cases, five deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 70 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also five deaths from previously reported cases. Three are from the Lake Havasu City service area. One was in the 50-59 year age range; one was 60-69; one was 80-89. County sees slight slowdown in COVID-19 cases; face masks continue to be recommended

MOHAVE COUNTY – Recent weeks of sharp increases in COVID-19 cases in Mohave County slightly subsided last week. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told the Board of Supervisors Monday that she hopes the downward trend continues. “We can be happy to say that we’ve seen a decrease from previous weeks for the first time in months. City of Kingman launches recovery grant programs

KINGMAN – With the City of Kingman’s Council approved new fiscal year budget underway, exciting initiatives were approved to help our local business community recover during the recent economic downturn. Among the budgeted items are three fast-tracked programs launched in July of 2020; the Façade Improvement Program, the Parklet/Pedlet Incentive Program with $90,000 in combined funds, and $10,000 for a Kingman Tourism Facebook Marketing Grant. Two teens killed in quad crash

DOLAN SPRINGS – Two teenagers were killed when the quad they were riding was struck by a vehicle in Dolan Springs. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office responded at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to the incident at milepost 5 on Pierce Ferry Road. Acting sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sandy Edwards said the reporting party had advised that a white pickup truck crashed into a quad occupied by three riders. Edwards said medical personnel had already declared two 13-year-old girls dead at the scene before deputies arrived. Fiery fatal crash on US 95

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal head-on collision between Lake Havasu City and the Bill Williams River bridge. Agency spokesman Bart Graves said the Saturday crash on State Route 95 was reported at 9:51 p.m., at milepost 162.
