Parents’ trials postponed in toddler death case

KINGMAN – Local judge Billy Sipe has begrudgingly granted continuances in the separate trials of Lake Havasu City parents who are charged in the death of their toddler. Judge Sipe expressed frustration that parties could not soon be ready when he set November 5 trials for Andrew Lamorie, 23, and Brittany Rodriquez, 26, back in January. The continuance motions, filed by Lamorie’s attorney Robin Puchek and Rodriquez legal defender Ron Gilleo, were based on contention of late disclosure by the state. Stanley faces prison time for drug charges

KINGMAN – A Kingman drug dealer has entered a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Michael Stanley, 33, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sale. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Greg McPhillips said one conviction involves Stanley’s possession of one gram of heroin at his Potter Avenue home in March. He said the second conviction involves another five grams at the same residence in April. KINGMAN – Trial opened Thursday, Oct. 17, in Kingman for a Lake Havasu City man charged with attempted second degree murder of SWAT team officers who executed a search warrant at his home in the 1600 block of South Palo Verde Boulevard. KINGMAN – A Lake Havasu City woman who engaged in fraud to obtain drug prescriptions has entered a plea agreement. Thirty-two criminal charges are dismissed in the deal for Marcie Lyon, 38. Lyon pleaded guilty to possession of narcotic drugs (Hydrocodone), attempted forgery and attempted taking identification of another. Prosecutor Cynthia Giltner said Lyon was working at an assisted living facility and that she swiped a prescription pad from a doctor who tended to patients there. Probation search finds meth, paraphernalia

KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Johnny Earl Burks, 46, of Golden Valley, for dangerous drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession, both felonies. On Saturday, October 5, deputies were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Willow Rd. to assist Mohave County Probation with a search. Burks was suspected of being in possession of a firearm and had allegedly made threats against another person. Deputies found Burks hiding in a closet. The alleged weapon was not found, however a search of Burks’s backpack revealed approximately two grams of methamphetamine.

Mucho indicted on 12 counts, all felonies

KINGMAN – A Kingman man accused of manufacturing an assortment of drugs at his home in the Walleck Ranch subdivision faces a dozen felony offenses. Alexander Mucho, 29, was named in a 12-count indictment returned Thursday by a Mohave County grand jury. Sheriff’s detective Aaron Devries said Mucho was involved in full-scale drug cooking operations when Homeland Security executed a controlled delivery of 25 kilos of drug production chemicals that had been ordered from the Netherlands through the internet.
