Dog thieves apprehended; dogs’ owner still at large

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Police arrested two of the three suspects pictured in surveillance video breaking into the animal shelter and stealing two dogs early Thursday morning, Nov. 28. Detectives received several tips regarding the incident, which led police to a residence in the 5600 block of Pearl Street in Fort Mohave. Some 43 pounds of meth seized during traffic stop near Kingman

KINGMAN – On Thursday, Nov. 21, at about 8 p.m., the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) confiscated 43 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $1.9 million. According to an Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) press release, Israel Tellez-Nava, 35, of Las Vegas, NV, was the driver and sole occupant of a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at around mp 59. Detectives observed bundles of methamphetamine in plain view during the traffic stop and arrested Tellez-Nava on scene. KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department (KPD) has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The funds will be used to pay for officer’s time and employee related costs for enhanced targeted efforts of DUI and impaired driving enforcement throughout the City of Kingman from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. KINGMAN – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives arrested Michael Trey Hefner, 19, of Kingman, for molestation of a child. Detectives were contacted by Huntington Beach Police Department regarding a delayed report of child molest that occurred in 2017 at a home in the 1800 block of Hearne Ave. According to an MCSO press release, the female victim, who was 10 years old at the time of the incident, alleged that Hefner, her older stepbrother, forced her to engage in sexual acts on multiple occasions.
