LAKE HAVASU CITY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident of a deceased man found floating face down in Lake Havasu near a business in the 1300 block of McCulloch Blvd. on October 5. Fingerprints from the body were obtained during autopsy and sent to Homeland Security for analysis and identification. On Friday, Nov. 8, detectives were notified that the fingerprints belonged to Hyok Kyo Chong, 52, of California. The city is offering a reward of up to $500 for any information leading to the prosecution of these vandals. The Bullhead City Police Department is warning the public of some recent scams reported by residents. Employment Scams: People have received a package in the mail with a check and instructions on a job. The correspondence continued via email regarding their weekly salary and not to be alarmed that the checks would come from an “outsourced” company. The scammer then asks for money for upfront expenses to be sent via wire transfer, which is untraceable. Scams like this typically involve bad checks.
