Coffin promoted to sergeant

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has announced the promotion of Dave Coffin to the rank of sergeant. Coffin is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. He came to MCSO in June, 2018 with 22 years of prior law enforcement experience. After exceeding his duties as a deputy, Coffin was selected for a transfer to the Detective Division in February, 2019. He has demonstrated that his knowledge and experience will help him excel as a supervisor.

Shoup charged with sex offenses

KINGMAN – Allegations that an underage girl was the victim of repeated sex offenses led to the January 3 arrest of a Kingman man. Jody Shoup, 50, was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center on sexual assault and child molestation charges. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the Department of Child Services (DCS) requested assistance with a sexual abuse case. “DCS claimed they received an alleged report of sexual assault by Shoup on a female juvenile that indicated the abuse had been ongoing for the last four years,” Mortensen said in a news release. Stumpf to take prison deal in I-40 shooting death

KINGMAN – A near year-old Interstate 40 offramp shooting death in Kingman will be resolved in a plea agreement entered Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Mohave County Courthouse. Bradley Stumpf, 32, pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the February 11, 2019 death of Jason McCafferty, 46. Prosecutor Karolina Czaplinska told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle that McCafferty had taken Stumpf to Phoenix for a work assignment but that McCafferty decided to return to Kingman because Stumpf’s behavior had become erratic and strange. Teen sought in drive-by shooting

BULLHEAD CITY – A teenager is wanted for questioning for his alleged involvement in a January 3 drive-by shooting incident in Bullhead City. The suspect is identified as Zachary Brooks, 19. Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Bullhead City police officers responded after witnesses reported shots were fired from a grey Ford Mustang at an apartment in the 400 block of River Glen Drive. Summers promoted to sergeant

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has announced the promotion of Stacy Summers to the rank of sergeant. Summers has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, experience, and drive to excel in his new rank at the Adult Detention Facility, and is recognized as a valuable member of MCSO. Summers started his career as a detention officer in August, 2013. In February  2018, he was promoted to corporal after excelling in his duties as a detention officer.
