Local auto dealership tips police to alleged identity thief

KINGMAN – Michael Scott Andrews, 61, of Nevada, was arrested and charged with felony forgery, fraudulent schemes, and identity theft in Kingman. According to a Kingman Police Department (KPD) spokesperson, Andrews drew attention to himself while attempting to purchase a vehicle at a Kingman automotive dealership. When staff at the dealership notified KPD regarding Andrews’ suspicious activity, it was discovered that the identity and banking information provided by Andrews actually belonged to another person living in Henderson, Nev., and that several other accounts had been opened in the victim’s name, all in the Kingman area. A Bullhead City man pleaded guilty Wednesday to seven felony charges resolving three criminal cases, each of them involving methamphetamine. The deal requires Judge Billy Sipe to impose a 13-year prison term during a May 28 sentencing hearing for Eric Stock, 50.   Stock is convicted of possession of dangerous drugs in a 2018 case. And the outcome won’t be known until Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen issues a decision sometime today, Thursday, April 30.
