LAKE HAVASU CITY – A 16-year prison term has been ordered for the Lake Havasu City man who pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the May, 2019 death of his 18-month-old daughter. Punishment imposed during a June 19 hearing by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle was mandated in a plea agreement for Ty Martin, 24. Martin’s daughter died when left in a hot vehicle while the defendant got high and played video games with a friend. Dave Hawkins

Woman commits suicide in holding cell

BULLHEAD CITY – A local woman reportedly committed suicide in a Bullhead City holding cell late Sunday afternoon. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said 34-year-old Amber Dawne Fagundes was unresponsive when she was discovered with an undisclosed item wrapped around her neck at 4:20 p.m. Fagundes was being detained on disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia charges. MOHAVE VALLEY – A Mohave Valley teenager is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections for hacking computers and blackmailing girls and young women to provide him sexually explicit images and videos. The 15-year prison term was the maximum punishment possible under terms of a plea agreement entered for Cameron Brush, 18. Couple accused of fraudulently obtaining some $90,000 in food stamps

KINGMAN – A Kingman couple is accused of engaging in fraud to steal almost $90,000 in food stamps from the State of Arizona. The Arizona Attorney General’s office named Kimberly Clark, 42, and Brian Clark, 47, in a lengthy indictment that alleges theft of $89,577.96 over a six-year period ending in early 2018. Mrs. Clark recently pled guilty to attempted fraud and theft charges. She faces 90 days in jail and up to three years of probation when sentenced by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Doug Camacho on August 11. Payment of restitution is another prong of the plea deal….
