Havasu dad found guilty of daughter’s death

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man who played video games and got high with a friend while his young daughter suffered fatal heat exhaustion when left unattended in a vehicle will go to the Arizona Department of Corrections for 16 years. The punishment for Ty Martin, 24, is stipulated in a plea agreement entered Friday in Mohave County Superior Court. Martin is convicted of second degree murder in the May 11, 2019 death of his 18-month old daughter. Fired fire chief earns case dismissal

DOLAN SPRINGS – Charges are dismissed in the criminal case against the former chief of a Dolan Springs-based fire district who was arrested last month after an argument with his wife and a fight with her teenage son. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Phillip Delgado said alleged victims did not wish Timothy Bonnee to be prosecuted. Charges against Bonnee were formally dismissed during a May 19 hearing in Kingman Justice Court. “We believe it’s in the best interest of justice not to pursue the case,” Delgado said a few days after dismissing charges. KINGMAN – A Kingman man fled on foot after crashing his vehicle into a fence along the Beale Street exit from Stockton Hill Road Wednesday. The incident before 8:00 a.m. was highly visible to those who commute to work in the downtown area. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said Matthew Clawson was bleeding when officers located and apprehended him just a few blocks from the accident.
