Transient arrested following motel disturbance

KINGMAN – A transient was arrested after using a chair to try to strike the door of a motel room in the 2000 block of Andy Devine Avenue Monday. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said 25-year old Braxton Legg had caused previous disturbances at the same motel. Cooper said Legg apparently suffers from “behavioral challenges.” He said Legg was not acquainted with the woman and nine year-old girl inside the room he tried to enter. Shots fired at deputies; suspects arrested

FT. MOHAVE – Authorities say they have identified and arrested two suspects who fled an attempted traffic stop Sunday in Fort Mohave after shots were fired at a Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said gunfire erupted when the deputy tried to pull over a silver Toyota Rav4 just before noon in the vicinity of S. Calle Ranchita and E. Camino Viejo. Colorado River community drug dealers sentenced

BULLHEAD CITY – A pair of Colorado River community drug dealers were sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections last week in separate Mohave County Superior Court cases. The 16-year prison term ordered June 18 for Stephen Martin, 60, was stipulated in a plea agreement. Deputy county attorney Kellen Marlow said Martin, Bullhead City, sold nearly three pounds of methamphetamine over a 10-day period last June to a confidential informant. The prosecutor told Judge Rick Lambert that Martin should be distinguished from people transporting drugs to other locations because he was involved in sales activity that poisoned the local community….

FT. MOHAVE – On Sunday, June 21, at approximately 11:56 p.m., a deputy with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near S. Calle Ranchita and E. Camino Viejo in Fort Mohave. An occupant of the involved vehicle opened fire on the deputy, striking the deputy’s vehicle multiple times. The vehicle fled after the shooting occurred and has not been located as of this time. The deputy was not injured during the shooting.
