Babysitter charged in sexual, physical abuse case

BULLHEAD CITY – An elderly Bullhead City man has been arrested for harming young children during babysitting sessions. Harold Stanley Pinkard, 70, was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center Monday. “The victim’s parents reported to police that their children had been sexually abused and physically assaulted while Pinkard was babysitting them,” said police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. She said detectives learned that Pinkard sexually abused girls 7 and 11 years of age and physically abused a 4-year-old boy. “The abuse occurred on several occasions while the children were in his care since July,” Fromelt said. KINGMAN – Police report a Las Vegas man is expected to recover after undergoing surgery following a weekend stabbing in Kingman. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers responded to Kingman Regional Medical Center at 8:40 p.m. Saturday after it was reported a stabbing victim was being treated for life-threatening injuries. KINGMAN – A 35-year prison term was ordered Monday for a Laughlin man snared in an undercover sting operation targeting males preying upon minors for sex. Judge Doug Camacho piled on the years Monday for Jay Lawler, 46, convicted at trial of luring a minor, aggravated luring of a minor, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted sexual conduct with a minor. LHCPD seeks help identifying robbery suspect

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On October 14, at approximately 8:55 p.m. an unknown male suspect committed robbery at Circle K on Kiowa Blvd and S.R. 95 after entering the store and demanding money. The suspect fled on foot from the location with an undisclosed amount of cash.
