Public assistance requested in identifying a victim from 1971 homicide

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a previously unidentified female victim from a 1971 Homicide case. On January 23, 1971, the victim was located in the desert area near a dirt road, 2.2 miles east of US Hwy 93 on Hackberry Road. The victim was located in a canvas sack that had been tied at the top with a white cotton rope. Kingman city council caught off guard by indictment of city business partner

KINGMAN – Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin informed elected officials and municipal management team members Monday that he was caught off guard by news of the indictment of a city business partner for an alleged campaign contribution violation. KINGMAN – A homicide trial began Wednesday in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman. Roy Medlin, 65, Golden Valley, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of David Hendrix, 49. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Jake Chavez said the pair argued over rental debt for days before Medlin shot and killed Hendrix on Oct. 3, 2020 at the defendant’s home in the 4600 block of N. County officials subject of COVID-19 litigation

Two Mohave County Health Department officials and a sheriff’s deputy are named as defendants in civil litigation alleging illegal enforcement of Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s executive orders involving COVID-19 restrictions in the food service arena. Lawyer Eric Spencer with the Phoenix-based Snell & Wilmer law firm filed a complaint in U.S. District Court on April 19. Missing person recovered near Yavapai Point

GRAND CANYON – On Monday, August 23, National Park Service personnel located a body below Yavapai Point following a multi-day search and rescue operation. Park rangers recovered the body which was located approximately 430 ft. below the rim. The body was transported to the rim and transferred to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office. Based on evidence found with the body, the individual is believed to be missing person Gabor Berczi-Tomcsanyi. Berczi-Tomcsanyi, 45, was believed to have entered Grand Canyon on or around July 19, 2021 and abandoned his personal vehicle at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center.  An investigation into the incident…
