Temporary closure, restrictions of public lands announced for Parker races

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office announces the temporary closure and restriction of selected public lands for the 2020 Best In The Desert’s Parker 250 and 425 races in La Paz County. The temporary closure will be in effect Jan. 11-12 and Jan. 24-25. The temporary restrictions will be in effect Jan. 9-12, and Jan. 22-25. Access to public lands in and around the race course will be temporarily closed, restricted, or designated as spectator areas. Annual rainfall up for Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY – Area communities enjoyed above average precipitation in 2019. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Las Vegas said rainfall wasn’t officially measured in Bullhead City last year but that Laughlin, Nevada welcomed nearly twice its annual average. The NWS said a total of 10.24 inches of rain fell in Laughlin last year and that the annual average measured over a 23 year span was 5.36 inches. KINGMAN – Long Mountain Event Center with Cerbat Motosports will be holding a Scramble Car/SXS and Tuff Truck event on Saturday, Jan. 4. Gates open at 10 a.m. and racing at noon. Gate fee of $5 per person (5 and under free) and $30 to race. All proceeds made will be going back to Long Mountain Event Center.
